The scene opens with the snarling snarl of a snarling dog. It's the same snarl that we've come to know and love over the course of the novel: snarling, snarling. The dog's trying to get the heck out of the way of the snarl's snarl, but it's too late. He's so upset that he can barely breathe. He can't even eat, and he's not even sure how to get out of his mouth. The scene ends with the growling of another dog, this time a snarled puppy. This time, the snarl is a snarl, and the dog is trying to figure out how to stop it. He tries to get a grip on the puppy, but the puppy won't let him. The snarl is so bad that it makes the dog choke. The puppy tries to stop him, but no one will help him.
