The chapter opens with a conversation between Toyama and Hiroyuki. Hiroyuki tells Toyama that he has come to talk to him about joining a group of eating competitors called the "Ajce." Toyama says that he will not participate in the Ajce because he does not want to be associated with a company that makes money off of eating contests. Toyama tells Hiroyuki that he would like to compete in the future at the "eat-olympics" in China. To the amazement of Hiroyuki, Hiroyuki says that even though he did not win at the gourmet eating contest, he is now part of the first group of competitors who will face off against unknown foreign competitors.
