This chapter opens with a tirade against George's "gourmet gluttony," which is described as a "horrid gourmet gluttony" . It is implied that this is a reference to the three brothers' eating habits, which are described in detail in the previous chapter. The three brothers are described as eating "all the food they eat at once," "just like your food," and "not food i guess" , all of which they have mixed together in order to make their meal "as brothers." The brothers' father, however, has forbidden them to eat hot food, so they eat cold food instead. This is why they eat as brothers, the brothers explain, because they have been instructed by their father to do so. The father will "release the curse placed on these three," and the brothers will be able to eat their meals as brothers again.
