This is a locked chapterVol.17 Chapter 4: Fake Competitive Eater
About This Chapter
In this short scene, we learn that a guy named oyamada is trying to enter an eating contest for autumn in order to compete against a man named yamamoto. The guy who wants to enter the eating contest has already submitted his entry, and the deadline for submitting has already passed. Ooh, that's a good sign that the guy is serious about the contest. Woohoo! The guy's got a good point. The eating contest is basically a festival, but it's not really a festival at all. It's just a competition. The winner is decided at the beginning of the competition, so the guy who submits the best entry wins. Yayomada, the guy from the city hall, chimes in that the cost of the food is too high, but the price has since risen to the point that the entry fee has gone up to a ridiculous amount of money. Aww, that was a bad idea. Yayosada says that all the participating restaurants have to pay a fee to get their name and advertisements in the event's newspaper, and that they all get to advertise their food on the same day as the event. The whole thing is just a waste of time and money, and oyada says he's lost interest in eating contests like this one. He tells the guy that if he wins the contest, he'll give him a ticket to the next eating contest.
