About This Chapter
In the morning, Torikai's hand stops moving. She's been eating a lot of food, and she's starting to feel sick. She tells us that the clock is 11:30 a.m., which is when all the cafes close their morning buffet. She says that she used to give up all her food when she was a baby, but now she only eats in the morning. She also says that her body has adapted to her new diet, and now she can only eat when it's full. Wow, thanks for lunch, she says. To make amends, she asks if they've known each other for a long time, and if they know each other's work for the same company. She asks if she and the other group that she works for have been asked to do events for yodogawa, and then she says that they haven't been asked, but that they're invited. She doesn't know that the guy she works with is a scout for the professional competitive event company, and that's why she came to work for him. He's right, she tells us, because he's a professional scout. But she can't give him back the money he gave her, because she was an employee of the company, not a customer. So she says, if she gives him back all the money, the contract will be dissolved, and he can go back to the professional event company.
