About This Chapter
The chapter opens with Orgon's declaration that he is a spy and that he will kill anyone who tries to kill him. He says that he has been ordered by the government to keep him alive and that there are other things he can do to keep himself alive if he is killed. He tells Orgon to drop his gun and shoot him if he does not want to die like her. Orgon says he will shoot him for real and not for a "hypothetical bright-eyed kid like you" . He adds that he can shoot him from a distance and throws the gun down at the feet of the falcon. He then says that they are both unarmed and that the guns used to kill their enemies are aimed at themselves. He points out that if he had kept his gun pointed at the falcon, he would have shot her. He also says that if she had not stepped up to the plate, she would have had to take responsibility for her mistakes.
