About This Chapter
Two years have passed since the attack on the mpd, and the narrator has forgotten who it was. He enters a company's server and discovers an odd encrypted entry. He wonders if this is a real terror plot, and wonders what the territorio would do if this were true. The narrator tells us that two years ago, there was a poison gas attack in the city of Budapest, and that the reason for the attack was still unknown. The reason, he says, was that they failed to free their leader. The incident seems to confirm what the narrator already knew: that the Russian government was behind the attack. He asks the narrator if he knew about the earlier poison gas incident, but the narrator says that he did not. He says that the incident seemed to have been resolved, but that what he saw was not the truth. He adds that the current Russian terrorism is also a result of the same religious cult that was responsible for the earlier poisoning of the city. He speculates that they were planning to use the same virus in the first attack, but then they were going to use it again in the second attack, and so they asked Professor shikimura to develop a new anti-viral drug that would reduce the amount of the drug required to kill a person. The captain had recommended the professor to develop the drug, but there is no way the drug could be made to work. So the narrator decides to try a different code to decipher the message.
