The next morning, Hiroyuki tells his son-in-law that they're going to the hospital to find out what happened to Haruka. Hiroyuki thanks him for coming, and Hiroyuki assures him that Haruka and his daughter are fine. They're both going to be taken care of, and they'll all be safe on their way home. He's glad to see that Hiroyuki doesn't seem to be in any hurry to get Haruka's dialysis done, and he's relieved that he'll be able to do it tomorrow. He wonders if someone is leaking information about the kidnapping to the police, or if it's someone close to the family who's doing it. He also wonders if the man who kidnapped Haruka knew they were nearby, and wonders if he knew what they were up to, too. The detective tells him that a detective is asking for him at reception, and that the police are preparing for the kidnapping. He asks if he knows who the kidnapper is, and the detective says that he hasn't heard from his father in a long time. He wants more guards on Haruka, so the police can get to the bottom of what happened.
