He's worried that the sky is going to freeze over and he'll have to wait for it to stop raining before he can catch up with him. He tells his dad that if there's a second chance, he won't let him suffer anymore. He also tells him that he has always waited for him, and that this is the last time they'll see each other alive. They'll stop in this light, but they're still waiting for each other. The narrator says that if his fate is that he loves someone for the first time, then maybe he can't wait any longer.
