In this short scene, we are introduced to Hong Kong's most famous prostitute, Ling-ling, who is trying desperately to find a place to stay. She begs to be taken to a hotel, but is told that it is too dangerous for her to stay there, and that she should go to a different hotel. She is also told that if she is not taken to the new hotel, she will not be able to sleep at all, and will have to return to her bed.
