In this chapter, we learn that Lin Fan's father gave him training, and brought him up to stardom. Lin Fan tells us that he is a "mistress's child" , and that Lin Senior has no position or status. Lin Senior secretly asks his father to help his brother and sister get a new school and pay for their tuition, which Lin Senior does not know about. After Lin Senior graduates, Lin Senior leaves in a hurry, and Lin Fan has lost contact with his family since then. During his fourth year at the university, Lin Fan becomes too busy with his studies and job searching to attend the student council meetings. He resigns from the council as well. He still has not found a position in the entertainment industry.
