In this short scene, the young man tells us that he's been working for Leo for a while, and that his life has been nothing but a "beggar gar's" . He's also been eating and drinking a lot, which is why he looks so good. The young man then asks if it's true that the girl is here because she's in love with him. He says that a perfect man must have a "goddess" in him, and a perfect woman must have "a goddess" , so he dressed up like a goddess so that he wouldn't have to hide his true feelings. He also says that he almost tripped while trying to make it through the crowd, but that's the way it is in the real world. The narrator then tells us about the student council president at the university where Leo is a student. He has a great look, a fine complexion, and is a great athlete. He is also a businessman's son, and the narrator says that the guy will come to read the university's oaths at the end of the play. He wants to stop trying to find perfection, but he can't because he'll never be able to find the perfect woman.
