The next morning, the Governess wakes up in the middle of the night. She's worried about what she's heard from Zhang, and she wants to know what his reaction was to what he said. She also wants to make sure that Zhang doesn't tell her that he's going to marry her. The Governess tells her that marriage is only for her and Zhang and that she can't change her family's mind about it. She tells Zhang to be nice to her, but not to make any changes for her family.
