The scene opens with the judges, li sheng, alexander and dennis, discussing the stock market in China. The judges list three of the country's most successful businessmen, and the largest investor is a man named Mr. Liu, who is also the father of the protagonist. The protagonist tries to convince the judges that he has done nothing wrong, but the judges refuse to believe him. He tells the protagonist that he can stay at his home for the time being, and that he is not sure if his father loves him. When the protagonist asks if he has dinner with him once, the protagonist replies that he did. He then asks the protagonist why he has come to pick him up in person, and when the protagonist says that he wants to care for his father, he tells him that he needs to cover his face when he goes out. He also tells him to stay away from the protagonist's friend, gao ran, because she is too young and inexperienced to understand the world. He says that his father is too old to make her miserable, and he would like to deal with her and her father once for all. He asks if the protagonist can go and play with his friend, and she says that her father loves her too, but he refuses to let her go
