In this chapter, Vincent tries to convince Sebastian to go with him. He tells Sebastian that he can stay wherever he wants to stay, and that he knows how to make a living as a teacher. He also offers to be Sebastian's friend if he gets older. Sebastian, however, refuses, saying that he looks worse than usual. Vincent tells him that the adults tried to make Sebastian become lonely, but nobody wanted him, so they forced him to stay home. He asks if anyone is home, and Vincent says that he is from the police station. He says that the police inspector informed him that Sebastian requested protection, but that nobody knows about the secret of the dead body.
