About This Chapter
Back at the police station, Alexander introduces himself as a new member of the team. He's been with the team for a while, so he's eager to get to know his new co-workers. He tells them that the missing child case has been closed, and that crime in the neighborhood has gone down since then. He also says that the festival season is upon us, so it's a good time to be responsible. He asks if anyone is looking for a specific kind of animal, like a bird, and then asks if there's something specific about this big bird that they're looking for. He says that he'll leave it up to his son to decide whether or not to get a small bird for his first pet. He then tells her to go back to her house if she's done with the sunbathing, and to put her books back on her shelf. She says that she'll read them later, but she doesn't want to just leave them there.
