The narrator tells the story of a little boy who disappeared from the neighborhood and was picked on by his parents because they needed to find him. The little boy's parents ran away because they had a debt, and the coroner says that the little boy must have drowned in the lake. The narrator says that he's been to the lake many times, and that the child was very difficult to handle. The other children didn't seem to have any clues of the child's identity, but the narrator thinks that the stain on his clothes is a clue.
