About This Chapter
The screech inspector wants to know if there's anything he can do to help the children. He asks if the wife was cooperative during the investigation. The wife was adamant that her husband was innocent, but didn't do anything to try and find him. She was smart enough to take care of the neighborhood's most important things. The inspector asks if they should give the boy a present. The kid says he's not sure how to act like a normal kid, but he'll figure it out soon enough. He's sorry that he was cited and shocked, but the inspector can't figure out why he brought the kid here. He wants to use the kid to trick someone, and the kid says, "I'm really, really sorry, you need nothing from me . . I'd like it, if you were lonely anymore" .
