In this chapter, we learn that the friar is in bed with a fbi agent and that the club is already attracting "slumbersome people" . The friar tells us that he hates the fbi and that he hopes Johnny doesn't know about it. He also tells us about how Johnny gave him a job when he had nowhere else to go and how he gave him another chance when he'd shown him hostility. He's the "most decent and caring" person he's ever met, he tells us. He says that he and Johnny have been best friends since they were in high school, and he hopes they can work it out.
