In this chapter, the reader learns more about the events of the previous chapter, which took place in the present day. It is revealed that the protagonist's brother, Sam, was injured when he tripped and broke his arm during a fight with the other students at the school. The protagonist, however, was not injured in the fight, and he is now able to return to school.
