In the middle of the night, Lingfu wakes up in his bed. He's feeling a little better, but he's still not sure whether or not he'll be able to make it to the morning meeting with the King's delegation. Lingfu asks the doctor if his leg is fully healed, and the doctor tells him that it's looking good. He also tells Lingfu that he got some good news from a guy who bullied him, and that he plans to bully the girl back in the night. The doctor then gives Lingfu a brow pencil, which he uses to draw a picture of himself in front of the king. He wonders why Lingfu is giving him such a big reward, and wonders if the king's entourage is waiting for him. He then wonders if he should thank the doctor for his good work, or give him a thank you note, or anything else. He asks the king if a marriage alliance would be a bad thing, since it would help the country avoid war and grow its strength.
