About This Chapter
Aunt Qingping tells her grandmother that she will be safe, and that she has the witnesses and evidence to prove her innocence. She says that her maid spotted the two cousins sneaking into her backyard and burying the evidence. They tried to murder her brother and frame her for it, but they picked up a white robe that was made from someone no one knew, and they tried to confront her in front of the judge, but she thumps that's too much, and says that she doesn't want to ruin her family's hundred-year-old reputation. She tells the queen that she'll ask her to judge the case, and she says that if the queen refuses to do so, she will have to ask the queen herself to judge. She adds that she won't protect her family and power by going to the palace.
