About This Chapter
In the middle of a gale, a bird chirps, "Please, this night in gale / Please, take the bird to the castle. And why, exactly / Would you like me, bring a night-in-gale to the Castle?" . The bird says that he's sure that there's good news coming from the castle, but that once the bird leaves, he'll simply fly away. He says that they'll hide themselves in the castle gates, and they're going to keep a close eye on the castle's skies. They'll also ask the children in town to keep an eye out for the bird. If they don't find the bird, they can ask the town children to keep watch, too. The birds chirp, "We'll get the children in town / To keep watch on, too !" . Then the birds chirp again, "Suppose . . if that would be good news ? . no matter what happens / Good or bad . I'll set you free ." . They run off into the night, and the crows chirp. Who's there? It's the Ashina clank. Who are you, hannya ? The mask ! The mask!
