In the last seven litters, there are seven attractive women who are supposed to be escorts for the shogun. The men decide to take them to teahouses, where they will spend some time and then return to the house. They do not want to attract the attention of other men on their journey, so they have taken them into litters so that they will not be noticed. They light a flare to warn the others, but there are eight men already in the litters. Someone has spotted them.
