He tells jiu that he has an appointment with a patient and that the top priority is to stop him and his daughter from running away together. . He says that he's the least reliable dad on the face of the earth and that he wants to stop the fight now, but jiu needs to convince him to do so first. They agree that jiu will teach chu to her even if they don't marry, and jiu promises to forgive her if she doesn't. They argue about whether or not jiu really fell in love with the man at first sight, and then jiu asks jiu if they could test their love on someone more "gentle, obedient, and well behaved." .
