Though taking the poison pill will not harm him, it will only buy him time to investigate more about his father's case. He says that he has taken the pill, but that his husband has not yet taken it. He tells Ming and Cui that he will eat the poison immediately and that they will become his subordinates from now on. They toast to their cooperation and Ming asks if they still have questions. They discuss the fact that the terms they've discussed don't include releasing her. Ming says that she's too reckless to drink the poison with him. She says that the antidote produced by her father doesn't work as well as she'd like it to. If they can't figure out a way to get rid of her, they'd better go back and seek help elsewhere.
