"No, the sweetest man, you are really nothing" , he says. He's referring to the fact that sometimes, when his other half is in trouble, he wants to go and help them. But he doesn't want to give meaning to his life, because he's afraid of being seen as a vampire. He says that if he were a vampire, he'd love him back, because that's how it's supposed to work. He also says that he can't be satisfied if he gave him a clear answer about how he can stop the "step person" . The smell of blood in the castle reminds him of the smell of a vampire's blood, so he can see that he'll have a hard time stopping the step person. He tells him that his brother won't let him go, and that they should just stop at the rate they're going. He reminds him that there's never been a man who would go around a place full of vampires, so recklessly.
