In this chapter, we learn that the young master is going straight to his father, edric, in order to protect him from his father's attack. In the meantime, he's feeling a little rebellious. He's worried that his father is going to kill him, but he doesn't know if he'll be able to escape. He welcomes his father to the meeting. He tells him that the current system isn't strong enough to support edric's power, and that he needs to take it down. He also tells the story of how the younger master and Miss Jessel were killed by their father, and how they were the only ones who were able to stop the father from killing them. He says that he is the only person who can even try to stop edric from doing what he wants. He wants to know why he hasn't been in touch with him all this time, and he asks if he thinks he is doing something wrong. He asks if the father is his kin, and the father says he is. The young master asks if this is what he is here for, and if he is there to save his father. The father tells him to continue the story.
