The tap scent is a "scent that stimulates desire" and is extracted from the blood of a vampire. The narrator says that vampires are "weak to pleasure" and that there are "some deviations" in the vampire's pleasure, but still, it is hard to ignore it. The young master has been hostile towards his family because he does not know what might happen if he tried to assault them.
