L'an tells Lan that he's going back to the academy to recuperate, but he'll be gone for four years. Lan tells him that if he were stronger, he'd never have gotten hurt. Lan says that he doesn't blame himself for getting hurt, and that he just wants to get stronger so that he can fight with him again. Lan wants to be the leader of the team again, so he wants Lan to learn to operate the mechas in the virtual world. Lan has three years to accomplish this goal, and he wants everyone to be an intermediate mecha operator by then. Lan is surprised that Lan's body managed to heal in eight months. Lan thanks the scout academy for its "grade gene stimulating agents" and medicinal agents.
