In this chapter, we meet Hiroyuki and his friend, charon, who are on their way to the Greek island of Illyria, where they plan to spend the night. Hiroyuki tells Charon that he'd like to visit the island's underworld, which is composed of five rivers surrounding the house of lord hades. Charon suggests that they take a ferry ride to the underworld, where the dead are being led by a man named Herme. She's the wife of the man who guides the dead to their final resting place. The dead, she says, are "pretty boys" , and she doesn't want them to stare at her so much. She also says that she's not a fan of the dead, because they're just shallow, shallow people.
