This chapter opens with a conversation between a monkey named kakisuke and the king of the jungle, King Enma. The king tells the monkey that he's been working as an animal torturer for the past few years. The monkey tells the king that he works at animal torture "hell" . He also tells the story of how he escaped from the island of ogres and became a slayer for them. He's grateful for the chance to be a part of the story, and he'd like to thank the king for giving him the chance. The two talk about how they're going to get a new group of wardens for the jungle today. The guy who's going to be the mentor is a guy named Proboscis, and the monkey asks him if he'll be able to invite his momotaro to the jungle. The man says that he doesn't want to come, but the monkey invites him anyway. Then the monkey says that the jungle is a "quirky place to work" , and that there are hot springs and dorms for monkeys to work in. He says that if he wanted to, he could take over the world.
