About This Chapter
The scene opens with a conversation between a young man and a young woman. The young man asks the young woman if she wants to go to the theater with him. The woman replies that she does not want to go, but the young man tells her that he wants to watch a movie with her. He asks her if she would like to stay with him, and she says that she would, but that she is not sure if she should stay or not. She tells him that she has come to ask him to stay, and he says that he does not have the right to ask her not to stay. She asks him why he has not asked her to stay and he replies that he did not want her to leave. She says that if she ever bumps into him, she will beat him up, and send him away to the hospital. She then tells the woman that she knows that the man who bullied her is a director, and that he has a "rotten reputation." The young woman tells the girl that the girl would never do such a thing. The girl says that the wound on the girl's hand proves the girl is the victim, and a fan snapped the photo of the wound. She goes on to say that if the girl were a famous actress, she would do anything for a role, and the girl who is not famous would not do anything like that. She compares the girl to a "plot twist," a term used to describe an actress who sells herself out of fame through sex. She adds that the actress who is well known would do everything for the role, while the actress with less fame would do nothing at all. The scene ends with the girl saying that she will be waiting for the girl at the theater. She promises to be there soon, and when the girl asks if she can be the leading lady, she says yes. She explains that the role will depend on the actress's performance, but she will not lie to her
