The next morning, the Governess and her son discuss the events of the previous night. The Governess feels that she has done something "bad" and that she should not owe Clara a favor. She feels that it is best that she stay away from Clara outside of her job. She tells her son that Clara is getting married soon and that they should have had a lady come see her home. She also tells him that he should not drink alcohol when he is out in the evening and that he must grow up because once he is married, he will have a child. He tells her that they are still young and that their careers have not yet started.
