The next morning, the two young men go to the forest to find the Great Queen and her son. They find that the forest is covered with ice and that the highness of the king is "condensing ice" . The young men are worried about the king's health, but the girl assures them that the king will be okay. The girl also tells the story of how the crown prince was injured when he returned from the mainland. She says that the prince was too "broad- minded" , and that his highness tried to satisfy him.
