We're told that the monster is holding a "glowing led hup" , which is basically a string of weights attached to a string. The led is attached to the string by a rope , and the rope acts as a loop around the string, rotating it back and forth. The rope acts like a rope around a tree, so the led acts as if it were a tree trunk. The lights are so bright that it makes the sound of a "bendy monster" and a "ghost ham" coming from the woods. The monster is so freaked out that he's already stuffed with fear.
