About This Chapter
The scene opens with a description of the assistant's "sexy" swimsuit, which the assistant has asked the magician to pick out for her. The assistant asks the magician if he would like to try it on, and the magician replies that he would, if he said he liked one. He then asks the assistant if she would like it if he picked one that showed more skin, and she replies that she would, too, if she said she liked one with a bit more "skin." The assistant then tells the magician that the assistant once told her that magic can be a product of the magician's own mind, and that he should pay more attention to the "magic stuff" before he chooses a suit for the assistant. She then tells him that she once told him that magicians can only be a "product" of his "own mind," and that choosing a suit that shows more skin is a good way to make someone think they are part of the "making" of the suit, rather than the other way around. She also tells him to use psychology, or "negotiating techniques" , to get the assistant to agree to the suit. She says that this is a "lowball technique," or "like going from easy ball to more difficult one" . She warns the magician not to "waste this chance" on the "promise swim suit," because she does not want to "freak her out," but she does want to see the assistant in a "raunchier" suit than the one she is wearing. She tells him not to give her the "compromise mise suit" from before, and instead to give the assistant the "shack" suit from before.
