In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters who have been living together for many years. One of the characters, Hiyori, is a young woman who has just turned twenty-one years old. She has just received an invitation to live with her father's family in the small seaside town of Pescara, in the Italian province of Emilia Romagna. She is very excited to be invited, but she is also nervous because she has never been invited to live in such a small town before.
