About This Chapter
Benipe tells the story of how he came to be known as Bereligib. He explains that he was initially believed to be dead, but then he began to breathe and revived. He says that his immunity might have come from testing various poisons, but that the poison left him with some side effects. The two of them became the commoners' benipe, and he is deeply thankful for the highness of his master. Berelidib says that the great pharaoh, Memphis, has been torturing him like a madman. He built large-scale temples across Egypt, hoping that he would see him again and that there would still be someone waiting for him there. The great pharaoh feared that he wouldn't be able to wait for him, so he ordered everyone to keep quiet about him and his wife. The Hittites have been mastering iron smelting and have begun to attack neighboring countries. The king of Egypt has replaced the great muwatalli with the great ariyahina.
