At the beginning of the second chapter, we learn that the Egyptian king, Ramses II, wants to know how it is possible that he has been able to build a city three thousand years after the fall of the Roman Empire. He asks the Egyptian nobleman, Memphis, if he remembers the city of Alexandria, which disappeared without a trace, on an Egyptian painting. The nobleman tells us that the city was described as an "extraordinary and splendid city" and that if the king acts as he pleases, the noblemen should oppose it, but since the king has approved his idea, they no longer have to oppose it. He also tells the nobleman that he was asked to answer the king's question because the king wanted to know if he had ever seen the beauty of her majesty, "Nefertari" . He says that she had disappeared many years ago, and that the king was searching for her everywhere. After that, the king gave the father the authority to kill all blonde girls, so that he would no longer be looking for her. Now, however, there are still blonde girls on the streets of Egypt who are still being killed for their blonde hair. He tells the prince that after the coronation, the name of her will be taboo, but that it is no longer taboo now. The prince asks if he is the brother of the Egyptian general, "Memphis" , and the prince tells him that he must be.
