About This Chapter
In this second part of the story, we learn more about the Queen's relationship with her husband, the King of Egypt. The Queen tells the King that she will marry him in three days. She tells him that she wants to know more about him, but he refuses to tell her anything about his life, his country, or his era. He tells her that he was a great monarch and that he had more than a hundred wives and ten children. He says that since he has decided to stay, he will only have one wife from now on. She says that if she were to leave him, he would hate her, but she tells him not to lie to her. The King is not god, she says, because he is younger than her and has many responsibilities to perform.
