In this chapter, we find out that the traitor's identity is revealed. He tells us that the amanara is just a messenger, and that the plan was not to kill the king, but to kill her brother. We learn that the palace has been in ruins for five days, and the king is still starving. The lady in charge of the palace implores the king to eat, but the king refuses to do so.
