In this chapter, Memphis tells us that the traitor among them must be the one who knows the military strategies of the Hittites. The Hittite army reeled them in and ambushed Badru, and it had clearly been premeditated. The priest must not know their marching route, and the sergeants must only know their destinations the day before they leave. He says that he will obey the order, and that the wedding must take place as soon as it can be arranged lest the old ministers of thebes "retaliate swiftly" and kill him and his family. Finally, he says, she will finally make a vow in front of God ra and be his eternal wife. They are finished. The rumors are true, after all. They had only heard that the pharaoh didting on her. He is so gentle with her that he does not wake her up. He picks her up and puts her on his chest so that she will not wake him. He tells her to be quiet, as the rumors had said that she had used all sorts of despicable methods in seduce the pharaoh. She says that the rumors were totally false, that she is a kind and tolerant foreign girl who has been doted on. She tells him to get ready to go shopping with her, and to be careful not to change her mind. She reminds him that he wants something he will never forget with her.
