Beauty's mistress, Madame Merveille, tells him that she's going to give him three months' worth of "tanning sprays" if he'll just stop attending school. Badru, the village chief's son, comes in and tells them that the Egyptian king has just crowned a new king. He says that he needs to go to the Egyptian capital, Menphis, to save the new king from the "arrogant prince" who's been in power for seven decades. He also says that the first prince in line to the throne is from the village where they're staying. The first prince is the consul general of the village, which means that he's supposed to be in charge of Egypt's military affairs. He's also the guy who wed the Egyptian princess, and that's why the Egyptian army is invading the village. He tells them to hurry up and tell the king about the invasion. They need to get to the palace pronto.
