About This Chapter
It's been a while since the narrator has been feeling well, and now he's worried about his family's financial situation. He's not sure what's wrong, but he can't figure out why anyone would want to mess with the family finances. He tells his mom to get up and go to work, but she doesn't seem to be having any of it. She tells him to be careful around the house, because there's a rumor that someone is trying to break into the house. The narrator is worried about the rumors, but his mom assures him that they've all been cleared up. She also tells him that the kitchen was cleaned up the other day, and that no one's going to cause any trouble anymore. He wonders why he suddenly thinks of a guy who's blocking the door to his room. He asks his mom if she still likes licking all of his food, and she tells him it's more troublesome than his ninth-grade homework. He wants to go back to the market to buy some fresh fruit, and his mom tells him he'll have to accompany him there for two days. He begs her to come out and have some fun with him.
