About This Chapter
Alek says that the body of the captain has been found, and he is upset that Alek didn't find him earlier. Alek says he'll try to find the body, but he's afraid that the sharks have already eaten it. He's not sure if it's a signal from a military vessel or something else, but Alek doesn't think it is. Alek tells Alek that the ship's hull is made of high-strength steel, so it can withstand the pressure of the boulders. Alek also tells him that the captain wanted to keep the whole thing to himself, because he wanted to be able to do whatever he wanted with it. Alek thinks the captain was like "Gagarine" or "Anatolievich" or something, and that he was the only person in the world who really thought of anything other than himself. Alek asks if there's anything they can do about the captain's body, and Alek says there isn't. They haven't been able to find it yet, but they're worried about the windows and the mercury transfer in the trim works. They're also concerned about the depth finder and the navigation system, and about the security systems. Alek wants to know if they have any obligations for the next few days. Alek is a little surprised that Alek would want to protect his daughter, since Alek is such a devoted friend of Alek's.
