About This Chapter
The next day, the doctor tells the men that they don't need to worry about anything since they've found a giant pyramid in the middle of the sea. They'll just have to go to the nearest port and wait for it to open up. Phil is psyched about the discovery, but he's also worried about the possibility that the other members of the group will join them. He's not sure if they'll be able to figure out what they're up to, but Phil says he just wants to see the giant pyramid first. Phil tells the doctor that he wants to go first to the great hall, and then to the smaller pyramid, which is about the same height as the giant one. Phil's worried about what's going to happen to the castle once they get there, but the doctor assures him that there's no reason to worry. The doctor also tells Phil that the discovery isn't a geological anomaly, but rather a giant paved path that's been buried for thousands of years. Phil and the rest of the expedition have only made one public image of the discovery so far, and it's a huge paved path. The scientific community is skeptical about the pyramids' natural origin, but only Phil is qualified to be a major.
