About This Chapter
In this chapter, leviathan tells us that he has come to Egypt to admire the wonders of the pyramids, but that he is worried about the political situation between the pasha and the cairos. Leviathan says that he will not give in to any terms, and he will abandon his work and his writing for a while. He asks if he can tell him more about his theory that all animals once lived in the water, and that man came from fish. He says that they have found a new type of fish, called a laminar flow fish, which allows them to swim faster than humans. He also says that the young fish has the ability to stay underwater for two to three more days than the other fish, but he does not want to do the kind of work that they are doing. He adds that he doesn't want to publicize the fact that his daughter's father was once a guinea pig, but his father escaped. He explains that they were able to get a new kind of frog, a triton, that had lost its ability to evolve from the water. He hasn't been able to find one yet, despite his best efforts.
