This chapter opens with a description of the beast that Cleopatra has brought with her to the sanctuary. It's called the Todo, and it's the messenger from the creator to the lord of the sanctuary, Martius. The Todo warns Martius that if he continues to defy the will of God, he'll be punished. If Martius doesn't have a word of remorse for his disobedience, then Martius will be punished as well.
