Priest

In this chapter, we learn that the one who brought back ivan from the dead is the same spirit that has sealed him within ivan. He is a shadow, and ivan is the real threat to ivan's life. Worried that he is about to be consumed by the shadow, ivan asks his wife to kill her, but she refuses to do so. She tells him that she is afraid of what will happen to her if she does not leave the valley. She also tells lizzie that her father is dead, but that her daughter is cleverer than him. Unsure of what is going on, Lucentio decides to find the priest.
